Seasonal Allergies Out of Control? Break Out the Steam Cleaner!
There is news report after news report about how about pollen and other seasonal allergy triggers are right now. Seasonal allergy sufferers do not need a news story to tell them, they are probably already suffering from things like itchy, watery eyes, a scratchy throat, and a stuffy nose. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America points out what common allergy triggers tend to be and just how common seasonal allergies are in America, “The most common indoor/outdoor allergy triggers are: tree, grass and weed pollen, mold spores, dust mites, cockroaches, and cat, dog and rodent dander. In 2012, 17.6 million adults and 6.6 million children had hay fever. Worldwide, allergic rhinitis affects between 10 percent and 30 percent of the population. In 2010, allergic rhinitis was diagnosed during 11.1 million doctor visits.” Allergy sufferers often wait too long to treat symptoms or completely miss the opportunity to prevent symptoms in the first place. Steam cleaning can help dramatically reduce seasonal allergy triggers in the home.
Any time you or your family returns home from being outside; you bring allergens into your home. Allergens also get into your home via open doors and windows. And, if you have a pet, allergens can travel inside and get deposited all over your home – on flooring and upholstery – via your pet’s dander. Using a chemical cleaning product will not get rid of all allergens – far from it. Not only can it not get rid of all allergens on hard surfaces like countertops or flooring, but it certainly cannot get rid of allergens that have settled into things like upholstery. Unlike chemical cleaning products that only deal with the surface, a high-powered steam cleaner can penetrate porous surfaces to lift and remove dirt and allergens. And, not only will they leave behind a clean surface, but a completely disinfected surface because when a steam cleaner, such as a Vapamore cleaner, can heat to such a high temperature, it can actually kill mold, dust mites, pests, bacteria, allergens and more! Chemical cleaning products can actually create a biofilm that encloses and harbors bacteria and allergens so that they become even more difficult to eradicate. The other problem that is often associated with chemical cleaners is that they can actually exacerbate allergy symptoms and research has shown that they may contribute to asthma. Steam cleaners use only water so they will not exacerbate allergies or asthma. If you or someone in your family suffers from seasonal allergies, find sanctuary in your home by keeping it clean and allergen free with a steam cleaner.
