Keep Upholstery Clean with a Steam Cleaner

If you have ever uttered the phrase, “this is why we can’t have nice things” then this blog is for you!  Purchasing furniture for your home is a big investment and it is an investment that you want to protect.  Whether you spend a few hundred dollars or tens of thousands of dollars on your furniture, keeping upholstery clean is probably a top priority.  Day to day living can take its toll on even the most expensive and well-made furniture.  But, if you protect your investment and properly clean it, it can last for many years.  Certain types of fabric are easier to clean than others but whether you, your pet, or your children spill on your furniture, cleaning it without causing further damage or staining is no easy task.  If your furniture is upholstered with a natural fabric or fiber (such as cotton or linen), cleaning with minimal moisture is of the utmost importance because moisture and drying can cause the fabric to brown, lose color, lose its shape, or cause other types of damage.  For this reason, investing in a steam cleaner for cleaning your upholstery is a great idea.

A high powered steam cleaner, such as one of Vapamore’s products, can clean a variety of porous and non-porous surfaces.  It can penetrate to lift and remove dirt, debris, spills, stains and more.  As the steam penetrates it cleans and disinfects the fabric without causing damage.  It is important to first test out steam cleaning on a small, less visible patch of the fabric to ensure that it does not negatively affect the fabric.  Additionally, follow manufacturer instructions for cleaning your fabric to reduce the risk of damage.  Vapamore steam cleaners come with a variety of attachments to assist you in any of your cleaning needs.  Using the clothes steamer and cotton cover attachments, gently pass over upholstery to clean.  Not only will steam provide general cleaning and stain removal, but it will also kill dust mites and bed bugs.  Because Vapamore products heat water to such a high degree, the steam produced is capable of disinfecting up to 99% of bacteria, as well as killing bed bugs and dust mites – making it the ultimate upholstery cleaning tool.  Though you can certainly rent a steam cleaner, there are many other areas of your home you can clean with your steam cleaner so why not invest in one for your home?  Often, only a few rentals will be the same price as a new steam cleaner so your investment will pay for itself rather quickly.  And, you will have a powerful cleaning tool in your arsenal at all times.  Use your steam cleaner in your kitchen, bathroom, garage, bedrooms, on your patio, for your sporting goods, and so much more!  You never know when a spill or stain might happen so invest in a steam cleaner for your upholstery cleaning needs.
